This section catalogs primary documents as they are located, digitized, and verified. Every entry will list its source repository or collection, date, original language, a note on how it was obtained, and a rights status explaining whether it can be downloaded here. These eight documents were digitized and proofread by the researcher from their original sources. They are presented in the original Chinese, as primary sources — no full English translation has been made; titles below are working glosses for navigation, not official translations.

The eight documents above were digitized and proofread by the researcher and are reproduced in full on their own pages; see each page for its source and rights-status notes. 《驻马店地区758抗洪志》, 《河南”75·8”特大 洪水灾害》, 《板桥水库志 1951-2021》, the Huai River Harnessing Commission’s 1979 flood investigation report, the 1976 draft “75.8” rainstorm investigation report, the 1994 draft 《驻马店地区水利志》, and the 1981 overview article in 《治淮汇刊》 Series 7 are all official compiled publications and are cited here by bibliographic information only, with no text reproduced — several documents in this Archive (e.g. the Central condolence telegrams and the 1980 Banqiao/Shimantan lessons report) were themselves drawn from the first of these; see Sources & Methodology’s Rights & Reuse section for how that distinction is handled. More documents will be added as they are located, digitized, and verified.
Planned categories
- Engineering and hydrological reports — dam design, construction, and post-failure technical investigations.
- Government and administrative records — internal reports, directives, and correspondence from the period and its aftermath.
- Meteorological and hydrological data — rainfall gauges, river-flow records, and reservoir operation logs.
- Contemporary press — domestic and international reporting from the period, catalogued as press material, not treated as primary fact.
- Reconstruction and resettlement records — administrative material from the post-disaster rebuilding period.
